Mark H. Furstenberg is a baker, chef, long-time Washington resident and the former owner of Marvelous Market and The BreadLine. He became renown in Washington in 1990 when he introduced high-quality, artisan bread to the area. Success then followed him to The BreadLine, another Washington icon. Most recently Mark consulted to G Street Food, developing the concept, menu, and recipes based on street foods from around the world.

Mark's endeavors extend beyond his own businesses, however. In 1995, he developed the bread program the for Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley. In 2002 he helped Thomas Keller open his bakeries and for the last few years has worked with companies such as Legal Seafood, ConAgra, the Mayo Clinic and many others. He is a two-time James Beard Foundation nominee for Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic. Mark's current plans include developing a food truck in Washington and opening a classic bakery in 2010.
